All about Dubai:

Area: Comprises an area of 83,600 sq.km. The UAE is a federation of seven emirates. Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm-al-Qaiwain, Rasal-Khaimah and Fujairah.


Capital: Abu Dhabi is the capital of the UAE.


Population & Language: The population of Dubai is 74,30000 as per 2004. The official language is Arabic, but English is commonly used. Urdu and Hindi is also widely spoken.


Transport: Dubai International Airport is 4 km away from Dubai city centre and 170 km from Abu Dhobi. Taxis are the most convenient way of getting around. Dubai transport corporation has its city bus services to almost all the places in Dubai.

GEOGRAPHY & CLIMATE: The UAE has nearly 700 km of coastline, in clouding 100 km on the Gulf of Oman. A long the Arabian Gulf coast are off shore islands. The UAE is warm and Sunny  in winter and hot and humid during the summer month. In winter the daytime temperature are average 26oc and nights are relatively cold between 12-15oc. Summer temperatures are in mid 40s, Rain fall is sparse and intermittent, mostly is rains in winter math usually in Feb or March.

EDUCATION : Dubai boasts of a high level of education, English is a medium of instruction in most of the schools and colleges. The climate of Dubai is very encouraging for study. Dubai education system was divided into three levels: 1) Nursery, Pre-school (age: 2-4 years), 2) Primary, Secondary School (age: 4 -11 years & 11-18 years ) and 3) Universities (age: 18 years & above).

Almost any type of food is available, Gulf and Middle Eastern food is also available in a wide variety of venues, from expensive restaurants to local cafes.


Economy: Although oil was the engine that began Dubai's rapid development, it now contributes only 20% of GDP. The non oil sector, including services, Manufacturing and trading, Dubai has also emerged as location of choice for global corporations, large numbers of which conduct. Their local and regional operation from the city.

SPORTS & RECREATIONS: Sporting and recreational facilities are exceptional and major international sporting events are staged at various sport which is an integral part of the heritage of the UAE, i.e. camel Racing. The other sports are car Rolling, Cricket, football, Golf.

Dubai Education System

The UAE educational system was established in the beginning of the 1970s. The UAE provides a comprehensive system for boys and girls, with free nationals in governmental schools, universities. The private education is constantly being improved and caters 40% of the student population. The Ministry of Education and youth has established a strategy, to be implemented in next 20 years, to further develop the education system of the UAE. To this end the ministry of education has produced a policy document outlining a strategy for further educational development in the UAE up to the your 2020, based on several five-year plans.

BREAK DOWN OF THE EDUCATION SYSTEM :

Primary and secondary education is provided for all UAE citizens. The existing educational structure which was established in the early 1970s is a four tier system covering 14 years of education.

KINDERGARTEN : Age level from 4 to 5 years old.

·         Primary: Length of programme in years: 6 age level from 6 to 12.

·         Preparatory: Length of programme in years: 3 Age level from 12 to 15

·         Secondary: Length of programme in years: 3 Age level from 12 to 18. Certificate/ diploma awarded, secondary school leaving certificate

·         Technical secondary School: Length of programme in years: 6 Age level form 12 to 18. Certificate/ diploma awarded.

·         Higher Education: Length of programme in years: 3 Age level from 18 to 21.

Post Graduation Education: Length of programme is 1 or 2 years: Age level 21 to 23

Dubai Visa

Once the student decided over the course and the university after going through the eligibility criteria of the university. The applicants must submit certified true copies of relevant document along with the application form. The university will decide on the recognition of your academic background based on the recommendations of an education committee and will decide at which level you can qualify to enter.
